Yachtwerft meyer can now build one-off tenders that also serve as safety boats, after meeting stringent extra Class quality standards. The company’s entire boat building operation has just been awarded a new Approval of Manufacturer quality certification for composite parts up to a size of 30 x 9 x 9 metres.

Yachtwerft meyer has long been certified to ISO 9001:2015 by the well-known classification company Det Norske Veritas (DNV) for its management system. Now the shipyard has underlined its commitment to quality standards with DNV’s demanding AoM certification – one of the few in the sector to achieve this.

Although the award applies to all the boats we produce, it is of particular interest to megayacht owners seeking a custom tender and safety boat combined, or a customised safety boat. Now it is far quicker and easier to build a one-off tender or safety boat that perfectly matches the mothership, and meets both SOLAS or the Maritime Equipment Directive (MED) safety standards.
